Volunteering at PEP

Volunteering at PEP

Do you have any spare time? PEP can help you to gain new skills and confidence, and connect with your local community.

For older people and vulnerable adults, we provide local lunch clubs, mental health support groups, digital inclusion classes, and a weekend club.  PEP also operates a comprehensive community transport service.  With so much going on, we have volunteering opportunities across all our services.

Volunteering is at the heart of PEP, and we proudly hold the “Investing in Volunteers” accreditation as well as participating in Edinburgh’s “Inspiring Volunteers” Award scheme every year.

Volunteer opportunities

Currently we are looking for volunteers in the following areas:

  • Minibus Drivers – to help deliver quality transport to organisations within the North Edinburgh area.  A car driving licence is sufficient and full training is provided.
  • Minibus Passenger Assistants – to help frail older people on and off our accessible buses. An essential part of the driving team, Passenger Assistants work with PEP’s drivers to ensure a smooth, effective service for our service users.
  • Trustees – to help us move forward with the development of PEP’s services, provide support to the PEP Manager and maintain PEP’s vision, mission and values.

If you are interested in volunteering with us or would like to have an informal chat, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator Diane Palmer on 0131 315 4466 or email diane.palmer@pepscot.org
